Prohibited & Restricted Items Policy

Dibdaa is committed to providing a safe, trusted and responsible marketplace for our community.

To protect buyers and sellers and help ensure that items offered through Dibdaa comply with applicable laws and marketplace standards, certain items are not permitted to be listed or sold on the platform.

Sellers are responsible for ensuring that the items they list can legally be sold in the UAE and comply with Dibdaa's policies.

Where does this policy apply?

This policy applies to all listings and activity on Dibdaa, including items offered for sale, auction, Make Offer, Free Stuff, promotional listings and any other marketplace feature.

An item that is prohibited on Dibdaa cannot be listed or transferred through the platform simply because it is being offered for free rather than sold.

All Dibdaa users are responsible for ensuring that the items they list comply with this policy and applicable UAE laws and regulations.

Items You Cannot Sell on Dibdaa

The following items must not be listed, offered, advertised or sold on Dibdaa:

Weapons, Ammunition & Explosives

This includes firearms, ammunition, explosives and other prohibited or regulated weapons.

Items designed primarily as weapons or that could present an unacceptable safety risk may also be removed.

Alcohol, Tobacco & Smoking Products

Alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, cigarettes, cigars, electronic cigarettes, vaping products and related regulated smoking products are not permitted.

Drugs, Controlled Substances & Prescription Medicines

Illegal drugs, controlled substances, prescription medicines and other pharmaceutical products requiring regulatory approval or a prescription must not be listed.

Counterfeit, Fake or Unauthorised Goods

Counterfeit, fake or imitation products that infringe intellectual property rights are prohibited.

Sellers must not list an item using a brand name, logo or description that falsely suggests that the item is genuine or officially associated with a brand.

If you are selling a branded item, you must accurately represent its authenticity and condition.

Stolen Goods

Stolen property, goods obtained unlawfully or items that the seller does not have the legal right to sell are strictly prohibited.

Hazardous Materials

Hazardous, toxic, radioactive, explosive or otherwise dangerous substances and materials are not permitted.

This may include certain chemicals, fuels, gases, hazardous waste and other substances that present a health, safety or environmental risk.

Gambling Products & Services

Gambling equipment, services or products primarily intended to facilitate unlawful gambling, betting or lotteries are not permitted.

Adult, Obscene or Illegal Content

Pornographic, obscene or otherwise unlawful material is not permitted on Dibdaa.

Content or products that breach applicable UAE standards relating to public morality, public order or unlawful content may also be removed.

Endangered Wildlife & Protected Species

Items made from or involving endangered or protected animals, birds, plants or wildlife products are not permitted unless their sale is clearly lawful and all required approvals are available.

Dibdaa may choose not to permit such items even where a seller believes an exemption applies.

Live animals are not permitted to be listed, offered, bought or sold

This includes pets, livestock, birds, reptiles, fish and other live animals.

Dibdaa is a marketplace for products and pre-owned goods and is not intended to facilitate the sale, adoption or transfer of live animals.

Illegal or Unauthorised Telecommunications Equipment

Devices or equipment whose sale, possession or use requires regulatory approval must not be listed unless all applicable requirements have been met and Dibdaa permits the category.

Equipment intended to unlawfully intercept communications, bypass restrictions or access encrypted services without authorisation is prohibited.

Counterfeit Money & Financial Instruments

Counterfeit currency, forged financial instruments and items intended to facilitate financial fraud are strictly prohibited.

Illegal, Fraudulent or Restricted Goods and Services

Any item or service whose sale, advertisement, possession or distribution is prohibited by UAE law or requires a licence, permit or approval that the seller does not hold must not be listed on Dibdaa.

Dibdaa may also prohibit an item even if it is not specifically listed in this policy where we believe it presents a legal, safety, fraud, community or reputational risk.

Restricted Items

Some items may be legal to own but subject to restrictions relating to their sale, age, condition, delivery, licensing or regulatory approval.

Dibdaa may require additional information or evidence before allowing a restricted item to be listed.

Where Dibdaa cannot reasonably verify that an item can be lawfully and safely offered through the platform, we may decline or remove the listing.

Items Must Be Accurately Described

Sellers must provide accurate information about the item being offered, including its:

  • identity and brand;
  • condition;
  • authenticity;
  • age, where relevant;
  • specifications;
  • defects or damage; and
  • any other information that could reasonably affect a buyer's decision.

Listings must not contain false, deceptive or misleading information.

Photographs should accurately represent the actual item being sold wherever possible.

What Happens if a Prohibited Item Is Listed?

Dibdaa may remove or reject any listing that we believe breaches this policy or applicable law.

Depending on the circumstances, Dibdaa may also:

  • ask the seller for additional information or evidence;
  • prevent the item from being relisted;
  • restrict or suspend the seller's account;
  • cancel an affected transaction; or
  • take other appropriate action to protect the Dibdaa community or comply with legal or regulatory requirements.

Serious or repeated violations may result in account suspension or removal from Dibdaa.

Where required by law or a competent authority, Dibdaa may cooperate with the relevant authorities.

Not Sure if Your Item Is Allowed?

If you are unsure whether an item can be listed on Dibdaa, please contact us before creating the listing.

It is always better to check first than to list an item that may be prohibited or restricted.

Dibdaa may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in applicable laws, regulations, marketplace requirements and community safety standards.
