We seek to collect information reasonably necessary to operate the marketplace, provide Dibdaa services and meet applicable legal or regulatory requirements.

2. LISTING AND STOREFRONT INFORMATION

Information you publish as part of a listing may be visible to other Dibdaa users and, depending on how the Platform is configured, visitors who are not signed into Dibdaa.

This may include:

  • listing photographs;
  • item descriptions;
  • item condition;
  • selling price;
  • delivery or collection options;
  • return conditions; and
  • information associated with your seller profile.

If you operate a Dibdaa Premium Store, additional information you choose to provide may be publicly displayed, including your:

  • dedicated Dibdaa store URL;
  • product catalogue; and
  • other storefront information you choose to publish.

You should not include unnecessary personal or sensitive information in a public listing, photograph, description or storefront.

  • facilitate the holding and release of funds;
  • process refunds where applicable;
  • support delivery and collection arrangements;
  • communicate transaction information;
  • administer the 48-hour inspection process;

4. INFORMATION SHARED WITH BUYERS

Dibdaa is a marketplace connecting buyers and sellers. Certain seller information may therefore need to be made available to buyers to allow transactions to take place.

Depending on the transaction, information may be shared where reasonably necessary to:

  • identify the relevant listing or seller;
  • communicate about a transaction;
  • arrange collection or delivery;
  • process a return;
  • resolve a transaction issue; or
  • complete another legitimate marketplace function.

We do not intend for private seller account information to be publicly displayed unless you have chosen to publish that information or disclosure is reasonably necessary to provide the relevant service.

Buyers and sellers must not misuse personal information obtained through Dibdaa.

5. SELLER PAYMENTS AND WALLET INFORMATION

Dibdaa may process information relating to sales, payments, refunds and seller wallet activity.

Depending on the transaction, this may include:

  • transaction amounts;
  • payment status;
  • transaction references;
  • seller balances;
  • funds on hold;
  • funds released;
  • withdrawals;
  • refunds; and
  • information required to administer the transaction.

Payment services may be provided using third-party payment providers.

Where payment-card information is entered directly into a payment provider's secure payment environment, the payment provider processes that information subject to its own terms and privacy practices.

Dibdaa may receive limited information from the payment provider necessary to identify, administer and reconcile the relevant transaction.

6. DIBDAA PREMIUM SUBSCRIPTION PAYMENTS

Dibdaa Premium is coming soon.

When Dibdaa Premium becomes available, sellers who subscribe to a paid Premium plan will be required to provide an eligible payment method for recurring subscription payments.

Dibdaa currently intends to use Stripe as its third-party payment provider for Premium subscription payments.

Payment-card details will be processed through the payment provider's secure payment environment. Dibdaa does not intend to store your complete card number or card security code within its own systems.

The payment provider may provide Dibdaa with a secure payment reference, token or other payment-method identifier that enables recurring subscription payments to be associated with your account without Dibdaa needing to store your complete card details.

Dibdaa may also receive limited information necessary to administer your subscription, such as:

  • card type or brand;
  • masked card information, such as the last four digits;
  • payment status;
  • transaction reference;
  • subscription status;
  • billing history; and
  • other information made available by the payment provider for subscription administration.

The exact information processed will depend on the payment service and functionality implemented at the time Dibdaa Premium launches.

By subscribing to a paid Premium plan, you authorise recurring charges in accordance with the applicable Premium subscription terms until the subscription is cancelled or otherwise terminated.

7. DELIVERY AND COLLECTION INFORMATION

Where a seller or buyer selects an eligible delivery service accessible through Dibdaa, information necessary to arrange the delivery may be shared with the relevant third-party delivery provider.

Dibdaa currently works with third-party delivery partners including Aramex and PostaPlus.

Information provided to the relevant delivery provider may include:

  • sender and recipient names;
  • telephone numbers;
  • collection and delivery addresses;
  • package information;
  • item weight and dimensions;
  • delivery instructions;
  • transaction references; and
  • tracking information.

Delivery services are provided by the applicable third-party delivery provider. That provider may separately process personal information in accordance with its own privacy practices, terms and legal obligations.

8. RETURNS, ISSUES AND DISPUTES

Where a return, complaint or dispute arises, Dibdaa may collect and review information reasonably necessary to understand and address the matter.

  • information submitted by the buyer and seller; and
  • relevant marketplace activity where appropriate.

This information may be shared with the buyer, seller, payment provider, delivery provider or another relevant service provider where reasonably necessary to investigate or resolve the matter.

9. ACCOUNT STRIKES AND MARKETPLACE SAFETY

Dibdaa may maintain information concerning reports, account strikes, restrictions, suspensions and other marketplace enforcement activity.

We may use this information to:

  • investigate reported behaviour;
  • enforce marketplace rules;
  • identify repeated or serious breaches;
  • prevent fraud or abuse;
  • protect buyers and sellers; and
  • determine whether account restrictions or other action may be appropriate.

These measures are designed to help encourage responsible marketplace behaviour. They do not constitute a guarantee by Dibdaa regarding the identity, behaviour or reliability of any user.

10. IDENTITY AND ACCOUNT VERIFICATION

Dibdaa may introduce additional identity or account-verification functionality in the future.

If additional verification services are introduced, this Seller Privacy Notice will be updated where appropriate to explain the information collected, how it is used and, where relevant, the third party providing or verifying that information.

This allows you to add UAE PASS later if and when it is actually approved and implemented, without referring to it prematurely.

11. THIRD-PARTY SERVICE PROVIDERS

Third-party providers may also process information in accordance with their own privacy notices and legal obligations.

12. SALE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Dibdaa does not sell seller personal information as a business model.

Personal information may nevertheless be disclosed to buyers, payment providers, delivery providers, technical service providers, professional advisers, authorities or other parties where reasonably necessary to operate Dibdaa, provide a requested service, complete a transaction, comply with applicable law or protect Dibdaa and its users.

13. LEGAL AND REGULATORY DISCLOSURES

We may disclose seller information where reasonably necessary to:

14. SECURITY

Dibdaa takes reasonable administrative, organisational and technical measures designed to protect seller information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, loss or misuse.

However, no website, database, payment system or electronic transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Sellers are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials and should notify Dibdaa promptly if they believe their account has been compromised or accessed without authorisation.

15. DATA RETENTION

Seller information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • operate your seller account;
  • administer transactions;
  • maintain payment and accounting records;
  • administer returns and disputes;
  • investigate fraud or misuse;
  • enforce Dibdaa policies;
  • comply with legal, regulatory, tax or accounting requirements; and
  • establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Closing or converting a seller account does not necessarily result in the immediate deletion of information associated with previous transactions or activity.

Where information is no longer reasonably required, it may be deleted or anonymised, subject to applicable legal requirements.

16. INTERNATIONAL PROCESSING

Some of Dibdaa's technology, payment or other service providers may process or store information outside the United Arab Emirates.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, Dibdaa will take appropriate steps regarding the transfer and protection of that information in accordance with applicable law.

17. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS

Subject to applicable law and relevant exceptions, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including rights to:

  • obtain information concerning how your personal information is processed;
  • request access to certain personal information;
  • request correction of inaccurate information;
  • request deletion in certain circumstances;
  • request restriction or cessation of certain processing where applicable;
  • object to certain processing where applicable;
  • request transfer of information where applicable; and
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

Certain information may need to be retained notwithstanding a request, including where retention is reasonably necessary for legal, regulatory, transaction-record, accounting, fraud-prevention or dispute-resolution purposes.
