Seller protection FAQ
Dibdaa Seller Protection refers to the tools and processes we have put in place to help support safer transactions and responsible behaviour within our marketplace. These include keeping eligible payments within the platform, a 48-hour buyer inspection period, transaction records, account strikes for breaches of marketplace rules, and access to the Dibdaa Resolution Center where an issue arises. These measures are designed to support our community but do not guarantee that every transaction will be problem-free or that a particular outcome will be reached.
Dibdaa helps protect sellers by keeping eligible transactions within the platform, recording transaction details, holding the buyer's payment during the applicable inspection period and providing a Resolution Center if a problem arises. Sellers should keep all relevant communication on Dibdaa and accurately describe and photograph their items to help protect themselves if a transaction is disputed.
Once the buyer receives the item, they have up to 48 hours to inspect it. If the buyer confirms that everything is in good order, the funds may be released earlier. If no eligible issue is raised during the 48-hour inspection period, the funds will normally be released to the seller. If an issue is raised, the payment may remain on hold while the matter is reviewed.
If a buyer raises an eligible issue during the applicable inspection period, the transaction may be placed on hold while the matter is reviewed. Dibdaa may ask both parties for relevant information and will review the available information in accordance with its applicable terms and policies. Our role is to help facilitate a fair review and appropriate next steps; raising an issue does not automatically mean that either party will receive a particular outcome.
Keep your original listing photographs and description, relevant messages with the buyer, proof of the item's condition before handover, and any collection, delivery or tracking information. For delivered items, photographs showing appropriate packaging may also be useful. Keeping clear records can help if an issue is raised.
If you disagree with a buyer's claim, provide Dibdaa with any relevant information that supports your position, such as the original listing, photographs, messages, delivery information or evidence of the item's condition before handover. Dibdaa will consider the information available from both parties when reviewing the issue.
Where payment is required following an accepted offer, the buyer must complete payment within the time shown. If payment is not completed within that period, the transaction may be cancelled and the item made available for sale again. Repeated or serious failure to complete agreed transactions may result in account action under Dibdaa's marketplace rules.
If a buyer fails to complete an agreed collection, contact the buyer through Dibdaa first. Where the transaction cannot be completed, it may be cancelled in accordance with the applicable process. Repeated or serious failure to honour agreed transactions may result in account action.
No. Transactions or payments completed outside Dibdaa may not be eligible for Dibdaa's payment or Resolution Center processes. For your protection, keep transactions, payments and relevant communications within Dibdaa wherever the transaction is intended to be completed through the platform.
Seller Protection may depend on the circumstances of the transaction and the applicable Dibdaa terms. If you arrange delivery independently, keep appropriate proof of collection, tracking and delivery. Using a Dibdaa-supported third-party delivery option may provide additional transaction and tracking information that can assist if an issue arises.
Delivery services are provided by third-party delivery providers. Where an item is lost or damaged during delivery, report the issue promptly and retain the item, packaging and any relevant photographs or tracking information. Any delivery claim may be subject to the relevant delivery provider's terms, conditions and claims process. Dibdaa may assist with reviewing available transaction and delivery information where appropriate.
Dibdaa expects all users to act responsibly and honour agreed transactions. Where a user is found to have breached Dibdaa's marketplace rules, account strikes or other appropriate action may be taken. Repeated or serious breaches may result in restrictions or suspension of the user's account.
Dibdaa encourages buyers and sellers to transact responsibly by providing platform-based payments, transaction records, buyer inspection periods, user reporting, account strikes and a Resolution Center. Sellers can also help protect themselves by describing items accurately, using clear photographs, keeping communications on Dibdaa and retaining relevant transaction and delivery information.
No. Dibdaa's marketplace processes are designed to support safer transactions, but they do not guarantee payment or a particular transaction outcome. Payment may depend on the buyer completing payment, the transaction being completed successfully, any issues raised during the inspection period and the applicable Dibdaa terms and policies.
No. Dibdaa provides a marketplace that helps buyers and sellers connect and transact. We put measures in place to encourage responsible behaviour and may take action where users breach our marketplace rules, but Dibdaa does not guarantee the identity, conduct or performance of another user or that every transaction will be problem-free.
